Net result: A crippling loss of functionality. What was lost? Any way to easily see what email account or folder I’m in. That used to be on the top or the window. Now it has completely disappeared. The only way to see “where I am” is the highlighted folder name in the left-hand panel. I have 5 email accounts that I must monitor. Within each account I have tens to dozens of folders. When expanded (my normal configuration) the left hand list can take many seconds to scroll through.
Expected result: massive loss of time, situational awareness and sending emails to people and organizations with an inappropriate email account address.
If you have any influence over their thinking, please urge MS to restore visibility of account/folder name. And give us the ability to just roll back the whole change until this is corrected.
Agree with all the comments. What genius came up with this. I sense someone with a lot of time on their hands. Change for the sake of change….brilliant.
Could you kindly include the function to restore the outlook search bar in the previous position before the email message and not on the top of the outlook display?

Thank you for the video. It explains some things nicely. But still: this change is really not okay for the average user.
One major thing though: there are no fields to search from. The drop down menu (at least here) is only giving the option to search in the Current Folder, Sub Folders, Current Mailbox or All Outlook items. In your video it shows a whole field where one could search only in the From field. All that is not here.
How can I change the ‘search bar’ back to the original position? PLEASE!!
The Microsoft “ethos” take something that (sort of) works and try to make it as user friendly as trying to modify a Mac.
Give me Office 2003 – simple, clean and easy to find and control your configuration/settings.
Every iteration of Office (and Windows) has become a degraded shell of its former self with each and every update

I hate this new search function. It is horrible. I used to be able to put the most used fields to search into any order I wanted. this is so limited i have to open advanced each time i want to search and that has its own problems. Not a happy camper with this change. CHANGE IT BACK.
i watched the video, very informative, but i would have thought it would be better to match the web version to the desktop version, not desktop to match web. Thanks for the video, it helped me not be so disappointed in the new search, but i still do not like it, for me it not as functional and customizable.
The ability to toggle “the highlight flagged items” on or off has been removed from my newly upgraded and enhanced outlook. It simply doesn’t exist! I didn’t have the opportunity to put it back even though I liked it.
